Since 1991 Matthew 25:40, Inc. has been assisting the citizens of this community who face overwhelming circumstances regardless of age, race, religion, ethnic background, or disability. Matthew 25:40 was established to be a short term emergency needs assistance program. We cannot provide long term financial assistance to individual clients, although ongoing educational counseling on budgeting and personal finance is available.

Included among grants that currently fund Matthew 25:40, Inc. are the United Way, ESG, EFS, and Catholic Charities. Private donations are also imperative since each of these grants carries its own limitations and restrictions.  Our budget limits the amount of funds that can be distributed each day. Funds are available Monday through Thursday, and food is distributed Monday through Friday. Our office is open from 8:30 a.m. until noon, and clients are met on a first come-first served basis. Clients are required to show identification and documentation of the need for which they are requesting assistance. Each client is interviewed on a one-to-one basis to determine immediate needs. If it is determined the client can be assisted, they are given a voucher.  If Matthew 25:40 cannot provide assistance to the client, he or she is given information and directed to another agency which may be able to assist him or her in the current situation. Clients who are turned away are welcome to return to us when funds are available or when their circumstances have changed to make them available for assistance.
